The Miserable Rich - New Video for "Oliver"
One of my favourite tunes from The Miserable Rich, "Oliver" becomes even better through
an extremely moving and thought provoking video directed by Marc Biedel, who edited Youtube footage from last year's riots to the song Ringing the Changes

Freedumb - The Freedumb Curse
An album released back at the beginning of 2010, which I've just come across.
Oslo trio, Freedumb, were together seven long years before
releasing their debut album, “The Freedumb Curse,” although the only curse
which appears to have hindered their musical output relates to a penchant for
beer rather than knuckling down and producing a record. Once the slacker
attitude rescinded, Torstein Eriksen and cohorts music proves far more urgent
and energetic than their early outlook may suggest.
The majority of the fourteen tracks, full on, in your face
thrash with added punk attitude and arrogance.
Lyrically songs move between English and their native Norwegian without
creating any loss of significance.
Similar to fellow countrymen Kvelertak, for
English speakers the quality of the music speaks far louder than unintelligible
words. “Mareritt” affords the only slight respite with an overall slower
tempo, leaning more towards Doom references, handled again with some aplomb.
“The Freedom Curse” is
a rock solid, infectious debut and I can only implore Freedumb not to take
seven years over the next record. With
appetite whetted, I’m already looking for more.

TOP HEAVY ROBOTS HEADING FOR THE BALEARICS?
Those galactic messengers Top Heavy Robots return after obviously frequenting warmer climes. February finds the Cosmic rapscallions emerging from the black hole of Winter, producing an interstellar dance track packed full of pulsing beats.
Where will they appear next? Based on this banging tune, The White Isle of Ibiza beckons.
