According to the NME, two of the "most exciting bands in the world" head out on joint tour in July.  Without an official release to their name and little available on the internet, SAVAGES and PALMA VIOLETS both, still creating a name for themselves on a national level.

Don't miss both bands whilst still playing intimate venues.

Liverpool Leaf (25)
Glasgow Captains Rest (26)

Blind Atlas - Brother Moon

With less than a week to go before the release of debut album "Kodiak Bear" on June 18th, Blind Atlas unleash yet another stunning track and video on the unsuspecting music fan.  The bands Neil Young influences to the fore in the country rock tones of "Brother Moon," incorporating an exquisite slide guitar sound alongside images of Jurassic proportions.

Yet another reason to make "Kodiak Bear" an essential purchase.

BLIND ATLAS release debut album "KODIAK BEAR" on June 18th

Manchester’s own Anglo-American band Blind Atlas will release their debut album Kodiak Bear on the 18th June 2012. The same day they perform live in session for ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris’s BBC Radio 2 show.

The album launch gig takes place on Wednesday 20th June at the Kings Arms in Salford (doors 7:30pm). Special guests include Jo Dudderidge and Adam P. Gorman (Travelling Band) with additional performances from African Drummers and a string quartet.

Brother Moon will be the lead radio track from the album with another beautiful animation from collaborator Volkerfirma who have also animated a video for the title track Kodiak Bear.

When it comes to influences Blind Atlas will offer up the proverbial mixed bag, citing everyone from Neil Young, Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones to Calexico, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and the Grateful Dead. Hailing from Denver [Colorado USA] and disparate points around the UK, Blind Atlas came together in the bohemian suburbs of south Manchester; united by a shared preoccupation with drinking, failed relationships and the Flying Burrito Brothers.

18th June: Official album release date.
18th June: Pre-record Bob Harris radio session. TX tbc.
20th June: Album launch party Kings Arms Salford.

Blind Atlas formed in 2009.

Ross Thompson – Lead Vocal and Guitar
Pete Garner – Guitar and Hammond
Adam Jones – Guitar and Lapsteel
Cameron Baxter - Bass
Christian Jacobs – Drums Percussion and Backing Vocals
Helen ‘Bels’ Temperley – Viola, Violin and Backing Vocals

"Kodiak Bear" has been produced by The Earlys.

Tickets for the album launch are £6.50 advance from www.wegottickets.com/houseofcards and from Piccadilly Records.

Physical and digital versions of Kodiak Bear will be available through their bandcamp website (blindatlas.bandcamp.com), various UK independent record stores and through a variety of internet retailers including Amazon.com and iTunes music store.

MUSE - NEW ALBUM "THE 2ND LAW" plus U.K and European Tour

As a massive fan of Muse, the last two albums left me incredibly disappointed.  Am I setting myself up for a fall once more, or does the dubstep ending to their trailer video for "The 2nd Law" signify a welcome change in direction??

Muse have announced they will be playing live across the UK and Europe this autumn. Tickets go on general sale on Thursday 14th June. Full dates are listed below.
In order to make sure that muse.mu members get the first and fairest access to tickets for these dates we have launched a ticket application system for a limited number of the standing tickets for each date.

The application process is open from now until 18:00 BST on Sunday 10th June. During this time muse.mu members will be able to apply for a maximum of four standing tickets for one show of their choice on the tour. THIS IS NOT A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED PROCESS. When the application process closes, Muse Members will be verified, duplicate submissions will be removed and successful applicants will be chosen at random and allocated their requested tickets by Wednesday 13th June.
